Our work on Sussex Square: Bristol Mansions
We renovated the kitchen at Bristol Mansions, a Grade I-listed building on Sussex Square, from start to finish. Made-to-measure Minerva worktops, metallic metro tiles, bespoke carpentry and every trade handled by one team, all respecting the building’s Regency character.
A modern kitchen in a Regency building
High ceilings, tall sash windows and original cornicing are a gift, but they also shape what a kitchen can be. We plan cabinets, shelving and lighting around the proportions of the room, so the new kitchen sits comfortably with the building instead of fighting it. Our Bristol Mansions kitchen on Sussex Square is a good example.
Listed and conservation-area homes
Much of Kemptown is listed or in a conservation area, which means some changes need consent before work starts. We’ve worked in Grade I-listed buildings and know how to plan around what has to stay, so the original architecture is respected at every stage.
One team for the whole flat or house
Many Kemptown homes are flats within larger houses. If you’re renovating the whole thing, we organise everything in the right order: electrics, plumbing, plastering, kitchen, bathroom and decorating, with one point of contact and careful protection of shared stairs and hallways.

Kemp Town Enclosures
Private gardens laid out in the 1820s form the centre of the planned estate around Sussex Square and Lewes Crescent.
Madeira Terrace
The eastern seafront’s Victorian cast-iron terrace has a long sequence of ornate arches, with its earliest section dating to 1890.
