Lewes Castle
The Norman fortress was built after the Battle of Hastings. Its keep overlooks the town, with the Museum of Sussex Archaeology alongside.
Anne of Cleves House
This medieval timber-framed house in Southover was given to Anne following the end of her marriage to Henry VIII, although she never lived here.
Lewes Priory
Founded between 1078 and 1082 by William de Warenne and Gundrada, St Pancras’ was England’s first Cluniac priory. Its surviving ruins record that monastic past.
